Talent Builds
Stat Priority
1
Strength
Primary stat — always prioritize item level. Higher ilvl means more Strength.
2
Critical Strike
Best secondary stat. Directly boosts Killing Machine procs and is crucial for Frost DK burst windows.
3
Mastery
Increases Frost damage dealt at a favorable 2% per 1% ratio. Especially valuable for AoE situations.
4
Haste
Increases rune regeneration, reduces GCD, and speeds auto-attacks. Synergizes well with Critical Strike.
5
Versatility
Flat damage increase and damage reduction. Lowest priority DPS stat but provides survivability.
Rotation Priority
1
Use on pull and on cooldown. Line up with raid burst windows for maximum Strength bonus.
2
Use during Pillar of Frost for maximum burst. Provides Haste and restores Runes and Runic Power.
3
Activate during burst windows with full Runic Power. Maintain by spending Runes on Obliterate to generate RP.
4
Use on cooldown for AoE damage. Generates Gathering Storm stacks for increased damage.
5
Primary rune spender. Always prioritize Killing Machine procs for guaranteed critical strikes.

Use with Rime procs for free damage. Also used to apply Frost Fever and for AoE pulls.

Runic Power spender. Use to prevent RP capping when Breath is not active. Also procs Killing Machine.

Massive AoE burst cooldown. Use during Pillar of Frost for maximum damage. Key burst ability for both Deathbringer and Rider builds.
9
Use on magic damage abilities to absorb damage and generate Runic Power for Breath uptime.
