Talent Builds
Stat Priority
1
Strength
Primary stat — always prioritize item level. Higher ilvl means more Strength.
2
Mastery
Increases the effectiveness of Mastery: Dreadblade. Your best secondary stat as Unholy deals primarily Shadow damage.
3
Critical Strike
Provides chance for double damage on attacks and heals. Slightly ahead of Haste for both your abilities and pet damage.
4
Haste
Boosts attack and spell casting speed, including pet attack speed. Close in value to Critical Strike.
5
Versatility
Flat damage increase and damage reduction. Keep as close to 0 as possible — lowest priority DPS stat.
Rotation Priority
1
Pre-cast before pull when possible. Use on cooldown for major burst windows.
2
Off-GCD cooldown. Use on cooldown to empower your ghoul. Line up with other cooldowns for maximum burst.
3
Use on cooldown (15-second CD). Key rotational cooldown that amplifies your damage output in Midnight.
4
Execute ability. Use on targets below 35% HP for massive burst damage.
5
Generates Lesser Ghoul stacks on the target. Maintain stacks for Scourge Strike consumption.
6
Primary damage ability. Consumes Lesser Ghoul stacks and spreads disease. Use as your main rune spender.
7
Runic Power spender. Spend Sudden Doom procs immediately. Transforms into Necrotic Coil during Forbidden Knowledge.
8
AoE Runic Power spender. Use instead of Death Coil on 3+ targets. Transforms into Graveyard during Forbidden Knowledge.
9
Use for AoE situations. Empowers Scourge Strike to hit all nearby enemies.
