Stat Priority

Strength

Primary stat — always prioritize item level. Higher ilvl means more Strength.

Mastery

Increases Shadow damage and disease damage. Your best secondary stat as Unholy deals primarily Shadow damage.

Haste

Reduces GCD and rune regeneration time. Improves pet attack speed and overall rotation fluidity.

Critical Strike

Increases chance to critically strike. Solid value for both your abilities and pet damage.

Versatility

Flat damage increase and damage reduction. Lowest priority DPS stat but provides survivability.

Rotation Priority

Army of the Dead

Pre-cast before pull when possible. Use on cooldown for major burst windows.

Dark Transformation

Use on cooldown to empower your ghoul. Line up with other cooldowns for maximum burst.

Apocalypse

Use when the target has 4+ Festering Wounds. Summons Army of the Dead ghouls from burst wounds.

Unholy Blight

Use on cooldown for AoE disease application and damage amplification.

Festering Strike

Apply Festering Wounds to the target. Maintain 3-4 wounds for Scourge Strike consumption.

Scourge Strike

Primary damage ability. Bursts Festering Wounds for Shadow damage. Use as your main rune spender.

Death Coil

Runic Power spender. Use to prevent RP capping and to reduce Dark Transformation cooldown via Sudden Doom procs.

Death and Decay

Use for AoE situations. Empowers Scourge Strike to hit all nearby enemies as Clawing Shadows.
