Talent Builds

Stat Priority

1
Intellect
Primary stat — always prioritize item level. Higher ilvl means more Intellect.
2
Haste
Reduces cast times, GCD, and DoT tick rate. More ticks means more Insanity generation. Your best secondary stat.
3
Mastery
Mastery: Shadow Weaving increases damage by 4% for each of Vampiric Touch, Shadow Word: Pain, and Shadow Word: Madness active on the target.
4
Critical Strike
Increases critical strike chance. Synergizes with Shadowy Insight and Mind Blast procs.
5
Versatility
Flat damage increase and damage reduction. Lowest priority DPS stat but valuable for survivability.

Rotation Priority

1
Enter Voidform on pull and on cooldown. Transforms Mind Flay into Mind Flay: Insanity and enables Void Bolt and Void Volley.
2
Use on cooldown. Deals damage and generates Insanity. Pair with Voidform for burst windows.
3
Maintain on all targets. Generates Insanity over time and provides self-healing through Vampiric Embrace.
4
Maintain on all targets. Instant cast DoT that generates Insanity and contributes to Mastery: Shadow Weaving stacks.
5
Primary Insanity spender. Use at 50+ Insanity. Deals strong burst damage and a powerful DoT. Contributes to Mastery stacks.
6
Use on cooldown. High-damage ability that generates significant Insanity. Shadowy Insight procs make it instant.
7
Use on cooldown during Voidform. Extends DoT durations and deals strong damage.
8
Use on targets below 20% health. Generates Insanity and deals strong execute damage.
9
Filler channel when no other abilities are available. Becomes Mind Flay: Insanity during Voidform for increased damage.
10
Channeled damage ability that activates Entropic Rift (Voidweaver builds). Strong burst damage and Insanity generation.
11
AoE damage and healing cooldown for Archon builds. Deals Shadow damage to enemies in a 40-yard radius.
