Stat Priority

Intellect

Primary stat — always prioritize item level. Higher ilvl means more Intellect.

Haste

Reduces cast times and GCD. Best secondary stat for faster Incinerate casts and soul shard generation.

Mastery

Increases Chaos Bolt and Immolate damage (Chaotic Energies). Strong for single-target burst.

Critical Strike

Increases chance to critically strike. Chaos Bolt always crits, reducing Crit value slightly, but still strong for other abilities.

Versatility

Flat damage increase and damage reduction. Lowest priority DPS stat but valuable for survivability.

Rotation Priority

Immolate

Maintain on all targets at all times. Generates soul shard fragments and enables Channel Demonfire.

Summon Infernal

Use on pull and on cooldown. Major damage cooldown that deals AoE impact damage and empowers abilities.

Conflagrate

Use on cooldown. Generates soul shard fragments and grants Backdraft for faster Chaos Bolt casts.

Channel Demonfire

Use on cooldown when Immolate is active. Sends bolts of fire at all Immolated targets.

Chaos Bolt

Primary soul shard spender. Always critically strikes. Use with Backdraft for faster casts.

Havoc

Apply to a secondary target to duplicate Chaos Bolts and Conflagrates. Essential for 2-target cleave.

Rain of Fire

Use on 3+ stacked targets as your AoE soul shard spender. Replaces Chaos Bolt for large packs.

Incinerate

Filler spell. Generates soul shard fragments. Use Backdraft charges on Chaos Bolt first.
