Maximum single-target damage for raid encounters. Spellslinger provides consistent damage output through Splinterstorm procs and additional Frozen Orb uptime via Spellfrost Teachings.

Optimized for sustained AoE and cleave in Mythic+ dungeons. Prioritizes Frozen Orb uptime, Blizzard AoE, and Fractured Frost for multi-target Ice Lance cleave.

Alternative raid build using the Frostfire hero talents. Frostfire Bolt replaces Frostbolt and builds Excess Fire/Frost for burst windows. Comparable to Spellslinger with a different playstyle.

When to use: Use if you prefer the Frostfire playstyle or if Frostfire is tuned higher in the current patch. Sim your character to compare with Spellslinger.

Stat Priority

Intellect

Primary stat — always prioritize item level. Higher ilvl means more Intellect.

Mastery

Increases Icicle damage and Frozen Orb damage. Your best secondary stat for both ST and AoE.

Critical Strike

Synergizes with Shatter (guaranteed crits on frozen targets). Roughly equal to Mastery in Mythic+.

Haste

Reduces cast times and GCD. Useful for Frostbolt/Glacial Spike throughput, but lower value than Mastery/Crit.

Versatility

Flat damage increase and damage reduction. Lowest priority DPS stat but valuable for survivability.

Rotation Priority

Icy Veins

Use on pull and on cooldown. Line up with raid burst windows.

Frozen Orb

Use on cooldown. Generates Fingers of Frost procs and deals strong AoE.

Comet Storm

Use on cooldown for burst AoE/ST. Best used when targets are frozen.

Shifting Power

Use to reduce cooldowns of Icy Veins, Frozen Orb, and Comet Storm.

Flurry

Cast immediately when Brain Freeze procs. Follow with Ice Lance for Shatter combo.

Ice Lance

Use with Fingers of Frost procs or immediately after Flurry for Shatter bonus damage.

Glacial Spike

Cast when you have 5 Icicles. Follow with Flurry for Shatter if Brain Freeze is available.

Ray of Frost

Channeled ability — use during Icy Veins for maximum damage. Cancel early if procs are available.

Frostbolt

Filler spell. Generates Icicles and has a chance to proc Brain Freeze.
