WOW FOREVER · ENCHANTING 1-300 · BETA DATA 2026-09-23

Enchanting 1-300. Half the dust it used to cost.

Enchanting got the kindest treatment of any profession. Most early formulas need half the dust they did in Classic, and the skill-up colours did not move, so this route is cheaper than any Classic Enchanting guide you have used. You still need a steady supply of greens to disenchant, and that is the real cost.

THE ROUTE

Craft this, this many times.

Craft counts are the expected number for that range at Forever's skill-up colours, rounded up. The small numbers are the skill where the recipe turns yellow, green and grey; below the yellow number every craft is a guaranteed point. If a step finishes early, move on.

WHAT FOREVER CHANGED

Why a Classic guide gets this wrong.

  • Early formulas need roughly half the materials: Lesser Stamina on chest is 1 dust and 1 essence (was 2 and 2), Minor Protection on cloak is 2 dust (was 3 dust and a Greater Magic Essence). Beta data
  • Runed Copper Rod now needs a Copper Rod and a Mote of Magic, a new reagent from enchanting suppliers. Dust to Motes and a Novice’s Practice Wand arrive at 10. Beta data
  • Enchant Chest - Minor Health is now Enchant Chest - Inferior Stamina, and a bracer version appears at 20. Beta data
  • Enchanters gain staves, wands and necklace enchants, plus ring enchants in five tiers that the demo showed but the beta data does not list yet. Reported
  • Camp objects: Enchanted Lute at 20, Arcane Salvager at 140, Arcane Forge at 300. Blizzard

TIPS

Before you spend a copper.

  • You only need one Runed Copper Rod. The extra rods from 1 to 10 are just the cheapest points, so vendor them.
  • Disenchant every green you or your guild does not need from the start. The route wants 179 Strange Dust, 105 Soul Dust, 74 Vision Dust and 143 Dream Dust.
  • Lesser Mana Oil and Greater Stamina on shields are vendor formulas. Buy them before 260.

Training ranks

  • Journeyman unlocks at skill 50, Expert at 125 and Artisan at 200, each raising the cap by 75. Beta data
  • Character level gates of 5, 10, 20 and 35 for the four ranks carry over from Classic. Beta players report Cooking reaching 150 before level 10, and a forum moderator called that a bug. Reported
  • Hitting 150, 225 and 300 in a profession each award a Legacy point the first time you do it on the account. Blizzard

How this was built

  • Every skill-up colour, reagent and recipe on these pages comes from Wowhead’s Forever database, which is mined from the beta client. Nothing is copied from a Classic guide.
  • A skill point is certain while a recipe is orange. From yellow to grey the chance falls in a straight line: (grey − skill) ÷ (grey − yellow). The craft counts are the expected number of crafts under that rule, rounded up, so real runs land a few either side.
  • The route is the cheapest expected path through all 300 points, costed with rough early-Classic auction and vendor prices, with a small cost for every recipe change so you are not buying a new pattern every three points. Recipes a trainer teaches win ties. Vendor patterns and quest rewards are allowed. Recipes that are new in Forever are only picked when they are clearly cheaper, and they are flagged, because Blizzard has not said how you learn them.
  • The shopping list expands anything you craft along the way (bolts, cured hides, grinding stones, blasting powder) into the raw goods, and counts crafted leftovers against later steps. Those intermediate crafts can give a few free points of their own, so you usually finish slightly early.
  • Beta is capped at level 20 and content above that is not playable yet. Colours for recipes above skill 225 are the most likely to move before launch on November 4.

Pairs well with

  • Tailoring 1-300: Bolts do not level you any more. Everything costs more cloth.

Every bonus, camp object and Legacy perk is on the professions overview.
