Fishing 1-300. Two books, one quest, a lot of standing still.

Fishing works the way it did in Classic: every catch below your zone’s cap is a skill point until it slows down around the cap. You need the Expert book from Booty Bay at 150 and Nat Pagle’s quest at 225. Level it next to Cooking and every fish turns into a second skill-up.

Before you spend a copper.

Buy Nightcrawlers (+50) from any fishing supplier and keep one on at all times until 150.
Fish in the zone that matches your skill. Low zones cap out and slow you down; high zones make you miss catches.
Every raw fish on this route is a Cooking recipe. Bring Mild Spices.

Training ranks

Journeyman unlocks at skill 50, Expert at 125 and Artisan at 200, each raising the cap by 75. Beta data
Character level gates of 5, 10, 20 and 35 for the four ranks carry over from Classic. Beta players report Cooking reaching 150 before level 10, and a forum moderator called that a bug. Reported

How this was built

Beta is capped at level 20 and content above that is not playable yet. Colours for recipes above skill 225 are the most likely to move before launch on November 4.
Node and herb skill requirements are read from each object's Wowhead Forever tooltip. Zone suggestions follow the Classic map, which Forever keeps outside the new zones.
