THE WOW FOREVER COLLECTION · DISPATCH · RESEARCH CHECKED OCTOBER 31, 2026

Short answer: on October 30 the live WoW Forever realms picked up hotfixes that rebuilt all three Paladin talent trees and reworked Feral and Restoration Druid, with smaller changes to Mage, Priest and Warlock. Twist of Light is gone, replaced by Unsealed Wrath. Feral loses Berserk and gets Lacerate as a talent. Blizzard has not posted patch notes for any of it yet. Everything below comes from the game's own hotfix data, as read by Wowhead and two independent trackers, and checked against Wowhead's Forever database. Launch is November 4, so these are almost certainly the trees you'll level with, but until Blizzard writes them up, treat exact numbers as subject to change.

Where this comes from

Nobody at Blizzard announced this. Kaivax's last Forever post was the Episode 6 podcast thread on October 29, and the official beta development notes were last edited on October 27. The changes showed up in the hotfix cache that the launch realms send to clients during early character creation.

Wowhead posted "Massive Talent Tree Changes to Druids and Paladins" on October 30. ForeverChanges logged it as client build 1.60.1.70707 plus the server's hotfixes, and says plainly that "none of this is confirmed". Playfulls published its own read on October 31 and counted 66 class changes and 37 newly revealed items. The three lists agree on every talent we compared. Wowhead's Forever database already has tooltips for the new talents, and the talentsforever.com export that feeds our talent calculator was rebuilt from the same data on October 30. The calculator now shows the new trees.

Paladin: all three trees rebuilt

Paladin took the biggest hit. ForeverChanges counts 26 of the 46 old talents in new positions, and each tree now ends in a new 31-point talent.

Retribution. Unsealed Wrath takes Twist of Light's slot. Its tooltip: "Your melee attacks store a copy of your active Seal for 15 sec, stacking up to 3 times. Landing an attack with a different Seal consumes all stacks, giving the stored Seal its normal chance to activate once per stack." So you build three stacks of, say, Seal of Command, swap Seals, and the next hit rolls Command's proc three times. Twist of Light's 20% Seal mana discount is gone. Champion of the Light goes up to 5 ranks and back to 60% of Intellect as spell damage, after the October 15 build had cut it to 30%, and now also takes a second off Hammer of Wrath's cast. Conviction becomes 6% crit with spells and attacks over 3 ranks. Two-Handed Weapon Specialization now covers all physical damage and cuts threat by 20%. New Turn Evil lets Turn Undead work on Demons, which is why one forum thread is calling Paladins "Warlock killers now". Instrument of Law is removed.

Protection. Shieldsworn is the new capstone. It takes 4 seconds off Holy Strike's cooldown and makes Holy Strike hit with your shield, triggering Holy Shield and Shield Specialization without spending their charges, and lets you block spells for 6 seconds. Holy Shield moves up to row 5, and Templar's Bulwark drops to row 3, so any spec with 10 points in Protection can take a 100% max health absorb. Redoubt goes to 30% block, Improved Righteous Fury to 9% damage reduction, and Righteous Fury now adds 33% to all threat on top of the Holy bonus. One-Handed Weapon Specialization and Improved Seal of Fury are removed. Salvation, Mass Salvation and Revoke are no longer trained.

Holy. Oath of Light is new at row 4: you swear it on one ally for 5 minutes to boost your heals on them. Boundless Light, right below it, gives Holy Shock 30% more crit on allies who aren't under your Oath. Divine Precision falls from 18% Holy hit to 8%. Holy Power now raises crit healing by up to 50% instead of adding crit chance. Light's Vigil now reaches 40 yards (was 20). Blessing of Light and Greater Blessing of Light are no longer trained.

Druid: Feral and Restoration reshaped

Feral is where the anger is. Berserk is removed. Lacerate becomes a row 4 talent with ranks added at levels 34, 42, 50 and 58. Primal Bite, which Druids used to get at 20, is now a row 7 capstone that arrives at level 40, with three ranks. Shifting Power also moves to row 7, with its cooldown cut from 16 seconds to 8. New Predatory Discipline stops Ferocious Bite from eating your extra Energy while keeping the bonus damage from it, and Ferocious Bite gets a new rank 1 at level 24. Furor moves into Feral, Heart of the Wild moves into Restoration, and Leader of the Pack now raises all crit, spells included.

Restoration loses Gift of the Earthmother and gains Bloom, which heals for 100% of your Spirit when a Rejuvenation or Regrowth runs its full length. Wild Growth gets a 3 second cast (was instant), which Naturalist can cut to 2.5. Naturalist itself doubles to 10% damage. In Balance, Genesis doubles to 10% and Moonkin Form's aura now gives 3% crit to everything.

Mage, Priest and Warlock

The same hotfix data has more Frost buffs. Ice Lance now does 300% more damage to Frozen targets (was 200%), and every rank shares rank 1's 8 second cooldown. Ice Barrier's Frost damage bonus goes from 3% to 15% for a minute. Winter's Chill stacks give 20% each to your next Cone of Cold (was 5%). Arcane Blast's mana penalty drops from 175% to 100% per stack, but each stack now gives 12% of Intellect as spell damage, not 15%. These come on top of the October 28 Mage tree changes. If you followed the level 30 Ice Lance fight, Frost just got stronger, not weaker.

Priest loses Binding Heal from the Holy tree. Trainers now teach it at level 25, and the talent slot goes to Holy Binding, which heals you for 50% of any Flash Heal you cast on someone else. Shadow Word: Death's backlash triples to 30% of your max health if the target survives, and Cure Disease and Abolish Disease now work in Shadowform. Warlock's Improved Drains covers Drain Mana now instead of Wrack.

The forum reaction

Paladins mostly like it. A thread titled "Blizzard Saved Paladins 4 Days Before Launch" opened on October 31 with "WE ARE SO BACK!" Not everyone agrees: "Unsealed Wrath Is Exactly What Retribution Didn't Need" had 38 posts by the morning of October 31. Its author had wanted Twist of Light gone and still feels the new talent keeps Retribution tied to Seal swapping. Holy players are asking for another pass because the path to Holy Power runs through damage talents.

Feral players are furious. "Feral Druid Completely Gutted PvE and PVP" and "Feral druid DoA now" each passed 66 posts within half a day, and both complain that abilities Ferals used to get early now sit deep in the tree, so leveling Druids lose them until 40. A few replies point out that Blizzard can still tune before raids unlock on December 9.

The loudest thread isn't about either class. "So thats it? Elemental shamans are just dead on arrival?" has 444 posts, and a newer one sums it up in its title: "A hundred class changes today and zero for shaman or rogue". Another, "Class design favoritism", argues Paladin, Mage and Hunter have had most of the attention. Blizzard hasn't replied to any of these threads.

What to do with this

If you made a Paladin or Druid during name reservation, your plan from a week ago is probably wrong. Open the talent calculator again: links you saved still load, but points in removed talents go to the talent that replaced them in that cell, or drop off. The old Twist of Light argument is in our Paladin deep dive, which now has an update on top. If you're still choosing a class, the tier list uses the new talent names, though its grades were set before this pass. Expect Blizzard's own notes before November 4, and check them against everything here.
